Squeee! My gift posted, and it's Vastra/Jenny, and I love it!
Title: Simple Observations
Author:
templemarker
Fandom: Doctor Who
Pairing: Vastra/Jenny
Rating: PG-13
Why you should go read it right now: If the fact that it's Vastra/Jenny isn't enough, the author has also done an excellent job setting the tone with a narrative voice that puts you into both the Victorian timeperiod and Vastra's head very effectively. And it's sweet and understated in a way that totally fits these badass sword-wielding interspecies lesbians who solve crimes in Victorian London.
There has been lots of good fic posted. The masterlist is here and my Parker/Tara (with a hint of prior Parker/Maggie) Leverage fic is here. Mine never got quite as shippy as I'd hoped to make it, but my recipient seemed to like it, which is a relief.
In other, less squeeful, fannish news, unless I manage to pull a rabbit out of my hat in the next two days, I'm going to have to drop out of Torchwood Big Bang. Work is just sucking the life out of me (which is also why I haven't posted in weeks), and while I desperately want to write the bunny, reaching 10k words by Friday's rough draft deadline is, while not completely impossible, highly unlikely.
