Jun. 8th, 2009 05:57 pmWent to a hafla on Saturday for the first time in ages. What a blast! It was great to see troupemates past and present. Erzulie even got those of us who weren't dancing as performers to get up and dance with her, which was fun. Though it was a sharp reminder that, while it's nice my jeans are loosening up a bit, that is not a good situation when suddenly spontaneously bellydancing. Everybody was awesome, really, though I think
peregrine_kt gets a "Most Original" award for her "Flight of the Bumblebee" number.
I also learned that haflas are very hazardous to eczema, especially if it's on your hands. By halfway through the first set, I was mostly zaghareeting and slapping my knee with my non-eczema hand. Figures it looks better today, as I see my PA tomorrow. Any bets on whether it flares back up Wednesday? *sigh*
Yesterday was Philokhoria or Summer Festival, which was also great. After ritual we took a nice long walk outside, which was really the perfect way to enjoy the summeriness of the day, never mind that it's still technically spring. After all that, did a Reiki II class. Feels good to be polishing the rust off. I very seriously need to revise my Reiki II manual though.
Today, I'm back in the tutoring center, which is still quiet. Wonder when people will start having tests? That's usually what brings them in. Am finally caught up (I think) on beta reading as a result, which is a good thing.

5_for_five challenge: write a minimum of 500 words per day at least five days out of the week. So far, I've managed it once since joining. Yesterday, unsurprisingly, I didn't write a word. Today, I'm very frustrated with my stuckness and dangerously close to starting to actively hate this particular fic. Can't seem to shift gears and write anything else either.
Have a bit of a sore throat and overall achiness that meds aren't touching. Damn. I just got over a stupid cold. Don't want another one already! Especially as I'm supposed to go to some sort of concert with Patsfan tomorrow. Also the achiness is worrisome. Could mean it's more than a cold or could mean it's aggravating the fibro. Neither of those is good.
Finished the first half of BSG S4 and the webisodes. Went in search of the early part of S4.5 (scifi.com has the last 6 eps up) and ended up buying a la carte eps from Amazon. For others playing catch-up on the series, I actually recommend seeing "Sometimes a Great Notion" before the webisodes, even though it's part of the second half of the season. Just makes more sense. That's also how tv.com has the eps listed. (Careful if you click on that link, though. There are episode synopses.)
Also? Brain go splodey.
Maybe that's why I can't write? That's it. I'll blame BSG. I can't write with a splodeyed brain. Makes perfect sense.
