Last Day of Freedom
Jan. 21st, 2010 10:15 amTomorrow begins the semester rumored to be the toughest of all four. Haven't done as much preparation as I'd hoped, but more than I did for last semester. (All right, "any" would be more, but still.)
Actress!Classmate stopped by the tutoring center to go over dosage stuff. Worked through one of the practice tests, and my assessment stands: it's still all just dimensional analysis and common sense. The book even periodically says, "Or you could just use dimensional analysis." But, of course, they hope you won't, because then why would you need a book full of different formulas for every single situation? She offered to give me an ice skating lesson in exchange. Dunno if I'll take her up on that. I had considered taking a lesson or two over the break, but I'm terrified that my wobbly ankles will sprain and I'll be completely screwed for clinical. On the other hand, done right, it could actually be a very good thing for said wobbly ankles. *ponders*
Ah yes, ice skating. One of the reasons the two of us connect a bit, I think, is the need to keep some creative projects going in the midst of school just to stay sane. She has a reading in NYC coming up in April, for example. (I'm still a bit lost on the concept actually. It's not an audition, it's the actual performance, but the actors are reading their lines rather than acting in the way one normally thinks of. And it's also not a rehearsal for a full production. Ah well, she probably doesn't "get" fanfic either. :) Anyway, one of the things she ended up doing over break was shoot a solo performance of the song "Home" from The Wiz on ice. It came out rather well. This led to my admitting that I was reminded of her a couple dozen or so times whilst reading Barrowman's Anything Goes, and now that she's thrown ice skating in, well. She jotted down title and author. If she does actually read it, I wonder what she'll make of the comparison? Probably she'll just think I'm insane.
Trying to summon the motivation to go to Curves. After which I guess I should venture to the DMV and renew my stupid license. I'd thought I could do it online, but they want a new pic. Maybe that'll get me to finally touch up the gray.
