This is a cool little pan-fandom meme:

Any fandom, any pairing. There are quite a few up already.

May give it a try myself. Sooner or later, something has to get me to write something other than The Fic That Wouldn't Stay Dead.

If you're looking for something to get you writing (for example, because you have five days left this week to get your [profile] 5_for_five done and don't have a project going), it might be worth checking out. Or just scroll through to read a couple.

I've said before that it bothers me, when uploading to most archives, that the "slash" label tends to be in the "warnings" field. I'd far rather have it in with het, gen, and femslash in the "genre" field. Because warning for something implies that it is, in and of itself, problematic. If you're thinking, "No it doesn't," then consider what else tends to be in that check-off list with it: non-con and character death. So the orientation of the characters is in the same category with those things? Really?

[personal profile] rm has said it here far better than I could, though the trigger for it was slightly different, in that someone was contrasting "normal stories" with "slash." She also makes some important points about the intersectionality of slash and queer fen. I highly recommend reading the comments as well.

In the cases of archives, I realize it's mostly a holdover from when that was the pan-fandom standard. However, it's time and past time to replace that standard with one that doesn't imply heteronormative preference or worse.
