firefly124: snape - bewitching your mind (snape bewitch by briarrose_icons)
I received a couple of fic-related pretties.

Song is the Snupin DH fix-it I wrote for [livejournal.com profile] skitty_kat's lovely and inspiring drawing Bribing the Ferryman during the Trading Places Challenge at [livejournal.com profile] lupin_snape. I'm tickled to learn it's a featured story this month.

Thank you, mods at TPP!

But wait, there's more!

I'm also on this week's quiz at [livejournal.com profile] quiz_sshg. This week's theme is crossovers, and the story there is Who Are You?, a Doctor Who crossover written for [livejournal.com profile] aleysiasnape during Zibitcon Envy at [livejournal.com profile] hpcon_envy to the prompt "Severus and Hermione meeting the 10th Doctor and making an entirely understandable—and incorrect—assumption about his identity."

Thank you, mods at [livejournal.com profile] quiz_sshg! Now, the rest of you, go play, and see if you can figure out which passage (if any) come from "Who Are You?" and the other featured stories!

There's actually a third fic-related thing this week, but no graphic to go with: as of Monday, I've completed a full year of consistently meeting the [livejournal.com profile] 5_for_five writing challenge of writing at least 500 words at least five times a week.

Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] lady_rhian for coming up with the idea and [livejournal.com profile] sshg316 for creating the [livejournal.com profile] 5_for_five comm as a motivator to Just Keep Writing!

That'd also make this post today's grats for the Gratitude Project, though I've got quite a lot of catching up to do with that. Oops.

There is, of course, drama around pinning. Hopefully that's well on its way to being resolved. I've reached and passed the point where I just want someone to tell me when it is so my family can rearrange their lives, which they will have to do no matter when the ceremony is, in order to attend.

The more fun side is figuring out what to wear. I hadn't realized there is a dress code of "some type of all-white nursing attire," though now that they've said it, it makes sense. I've found one dress I kind of like, I'm just not sure I want to wear a dress. I sort of want to cut it off at the waist and find some nice white trousers to go with it. One of the nurses at the hospital where I used to work as a PCT wore tops like that with white trousers, so I know it's got to be possible to find them somewhere. Just not as easy as scrubs and dresses. If anyone has any tips where to find that sort of thing, pretty please, send them my way?

I seriously do not envy the men. Looks even harder to find non-scrub all-white men's nursing attire than women's.

Heh, scrolling through the tags, it occurred to me that "costuming" almost fits, except that's the other problem: search engines turn up at least as many "naughty nurse" costuming sites as they do scrub sites.
