Ambivalent

Fluffy post-con post later. For now, I need to process a little of this morning's news.

I have really mixed feelings about the announcement that we've apparently killed Osama bin Laden. It's probably a good thing he's gone. However, it's not like nobody else is going to step into his shoes, and we've likely just created a martyr and a rallying point for escalations

I never saw no military solution
That didn't always end up as something worse.

Not sure that's 100% true, but I do agree with the overall sentiment. Violence begets violence. The fact that all the terror alerts have been upped today says that TPTB realize this.

I don't know what the answer is, but I'm pretty sure this wasn't it.

The post-con post

Aeternitas was awesome. Amanda and her HPMA crew did a great job, and the Margate Hotel staff were friendlier and more accommodating than I've experienced in the two other cons I've attended. Also, my roommates, laiksmarei, lariope, and mollyssister, were great. I wish them all much unbroken sleep to make up for my horrendous snoring. (I wish some remedy would actually work for this. I really feel I've tried abso-effing-lutely everything, and none of it works. Well, the CPAP works, but then I can't sleep because I'm fighting to exhale, so that's not particularly useful either.)

So that's it! It was a wonderful time, and I can't wait to go back in 2013.
