Summary: Owen, Toshiko, and Ianto find themselves kidnapped to the future. Stuck on an asteroid, thousands of years from their time, they become research subjects and part of a 21st-century Earth exhibit in the station museum. But the time travel portal that brought them there is malfunctioning, and the whole situation stinks of a trap to a visiting Time Lord...
Why you should read it: Lots of timey-wimey goodness. Tosh being brilliant, Amy being unstoppable, and Gwen being a badass. Fixes lots of stuff while being compliant with all of canon to date. A seriously fun read.

What a night

Tonight was the second half of the Karuna Reiki(R) Level 1 class, which I may or may not have even mentioned after part 1. I hadn't been all that impressed thus far. The term "fluffy" had run through my mind more than once and I just didn't feel all that connected to what we were learning.

Part of this was, I think, because of the fact that there was so much reference to angels and saints mixed in with various deities (and the references to "Hathors" as a species of alien nearly did me in). At some point, attempting to accommodate every possible belief system of everyone in the room gets ridiculous, which is what I think the problem boils down to. Just acknowledge that your room full of Reiki masters have already worked out who or what they consider their source of guidance to be and leave it at that.

This is an ironic conclusion to arrive at, considering it was the references to Kwan Yin in the brochure that made me decide I needed to take this class.

Another part was that we'd only done half the class. It didn't really all come together until near the end, including some very intense shadow work (great night for it) that had me in much-needed cleansing tears, and then doing what ended up being some truly amazing healing work on each other.

Now that it does all make a bit more sense and resonate a bit more, I'm looking forward to working with it more. I still have mixed feelings about the registered trademark business and such, but the system itself, yeah. I'm liking it.
