TW canon-esque question
Jun. 19th, 2012 10:51 amSo, the end of Miracle Day gave us the hint that having been transfused with Jack's blood conveys immortality. (At least for awhile. If anyone shoots Rex more than 3 weeks after the fact, when his own blood should have completely replaced what was in his system, then maybe not, though fandom seems to have run far and fast with it being permanent.)
I've just read a fic that used this device to render Ianto immortal. (My only surprise is that this is the first such fic I've read. I'm chalking it up to most of the fans & writers who would prefer Ianto immortal not having watched MD.) This brought up the question for me of John Hart. At the end of KKBB, he gets a quick injection of a mix of all the team's blood (presumably including Jack's) to get the DNA-coded bomb off him. It was, obviously, a much smaller amount, but I can't help wondering if he might have ended up at least temporarily unable to stay dead too. It's clear that, as of EW, he doesn't think so. (Though one could still be justifiably afraid of blowing up even knowing it wouldn't be permanent, AEB Jack's experience in CoE).
Nothing to do with the fic I'm writing, btw. (Dear Attention John Hart, you are not invited. This fic is annoying me enough without your help. Besides, you got yourself a cameo in last year's
wintercompanion summer/holiday fest. No love, author.) Which I need to get back to. Just a random thought.
ETA: In other news, the 506 words I wrote last week? Are gone. Since when do I ever close a document without saving? Since when does Open Office not offer to recover something if the computer did a restart or something with an unsaved document open? Argh!!!!
