June-July Fic Wrap-Up and 8/2 Grats
Aug. 2nd, 2009 05:01 pmActually, grats first. I am hugely grateful for the creative burst that allowed me to write a novella in about a month. I haven't been on that sort of Muse-ridden adrenaline-rushed ride in, well, about three years. It was awesome, and I need to stop whining about having to spend a few weeks recovering from it to get writing again. Said novella is not in the following wrap-up per se, however, as it's not available for public viewing yet. There will be squeeage and shameless self-promotion galore when it becomes so though. *g*
Also, huge thanks to the mods of the SunnyD Awards, the Kinda Gay Awards, Sycophant Hex, and OWL for the assorted award nominations and shinies below!
And it looks like I never did a June wrap-up, so both shall be lumped together.
June-July Fic Wrap-Up
Awards, Nominations, and OWL Badge
To Know Who I Am is still going strong it seems. It was nominated at the SunnyD Awards in Round 18 for Best Book Xover and Best OC, was a featured story at Chaos for June and is currently a featured story on OWL for August! It's a thrill to be getting a spate of new reviews, especially considering that reviewing *those* rather long chapters is not one of your more efficient ways to garner House points. LOL
I also, very surprisingly considering how very little femslash I've written, got a judges' nomination for best author at the Kinda Gay Awards. *iz gobsmacked*

And I got 8 stars for my drabble uploads and reviews for July over at the OWL House Cup. Over 90 reviews! That's roughly 3/day, though it definitely wasn't that evenly paced.
The bad news is that Slytherin is in last place. Erm, we're just letting the rest of them get a false sense of security before we blow them away, yeah? *wibbles*
Fic To-Do List
I haven't done one of these in awhile. But there are some things I definitely want to get done before school starts, if at all humanly possible.

- At least another chapter of Turbulence. Finishing it would be better.
- Another chapter of More to Learn wouldn't be a bad idea either. (No, I actually haven't forgotten,
deemichelle.) - Ofic for the college lit mag. *sigh* I've been saying that for years and have yet to get an idea that goes anywhere. Ah well. *points back to grat* Not actually complaining. Possibly a tiny whinge. Itsy bitsy one.
- Sooper seekrit project. /cryptic
