A couple of WiPs recently finished posting that, if you haven't checked them out, you really should.

Title: Torchwood Virtual Series [profile] tw_itallchanges (Introduction)
Creators: Too many to name, so I'll link to the credits post
Rating: I dunno, PG? PG-13? It's consistent with what you could see on the actual show.
Summary: After the deaths of Toshiko Sato and Owen Harper, Torchwood must start again. Understaffed and overworked, they pick up the pieces under the command of Jack Harkness: time traveler, soldier, Companion and Captain. Along with Gwen Cooper and Ianto Jones, Torchwood stands in the face of a swiftly changing universe, facing off against adversaries both terrestrial and alien, while struggling with their own very human hopes and fears. The universe has little mercy for the last members of Torchwood as they're thrown headlong into the chaos of a changing world while the inhabitants of Earth begin to realize that they're not alone… and the neighbors aren't always friendly. Old allies and new have to work together against the greatest threat Torchwood has ever faced.
Why you should check it out: This is what a third season of Torchwood could (and imo should) have been. Thirteen episodes, episodic with a season-long arc that builds wonderfully, characters who are in character, and just enough campiness to take the edge off the angst. It's wonderfully crafted with loads of "extras" like Captain's Blogs, Ianto's Journal, and other ephemera. Even DVD extras!

Title: Bad Seed
Author: [profile] angstosaur
Rating: NC-17
Pairings: Jack/Ianto, Gwen/Rhys
Summary: many things fall through the Rift and Torchwood have to be ready ... Jack and Ianto centric team-fic.... set after Fragmented
Why you should check it out: This fic takes a couple of very pertinent themes and runs with them in a very, very Torchwood way, resulting in a clever and twisty plot.

The best recommendation for both of these I can give is that I was consistently dying to find out what happened next and dreading that they would one day be finished.
