The usual pointless babble.

Oookay, so the TARDIS is up to something apparently. Or something's interfering with it. Which, hey, that's impressive. And why does the Doctor have something stuck in his ear? Ah, it's a Plot Device! Got it.

Also? Maybe England should've had the Doctor (or even just Matt Smith) playing for them. Because, self-congratulatory bs aside, losing to us is pretty sad. When we say football, after all, we mean a completely different sport. And hardly anybody above the age of about 12 pays any attention to soccer. So, yeah, if we won, it's not because we're that good. Though it has been suggested (by an Englishwoman, no less) that we could've won if we'd sent in the women's synchronized swim team instead and still won, which sort of underscores my point. ETA: And apparently I understand even less about wtf is going on than I thought. With the US folks going all "yayz" and the UK folks going all "woez," silly me, I thought England lost, which apparently is not what happened. This is why I should really just ignore sports entirely. Well, I try to anyway, it's just getting increasingly difficult. Actually, this segment of babble probably translates better as, "OMFG, as if the NBA finals and baseball weren't bad enough, now LJ, Facebook, and Twitter are all full of the World Cup, and now the Doctor's playing too! There is no escape! Sports everywhere! Argh!"

Enough of that! Back to the ep and the Doctor stealing the limelight from whatshisface at the pub league footie match.

"Where's the on switch?" ROFLMAO! Yes, Doctor, there are screwdrivers without on switches!

All right, that contraption is the best thing ever. I mean look at it! It's got everything! Push broom, rake, umbrella, light show. Want!

And again we flash through the past Doctors. By way of a head-butt. Well, that's one way to short-circuit the explanations.

Now that looks vaguely reminiscent of the Lazarus machine. Which could, of course, just be a design coincidence. As could the flickering door that looks like it belongs in Satellite Five, neither of which has any particular resonance to this episode. But given the rest of this season? Filing among things that may make sense later. Or not.

But, erm, somebody's trying to build a TARDIS? And has a pretty effective perception filter? That worked on the Doctor when similar didn't work on the Master? Please tell me we're going to get some answers to that, even though the damned thing's disappeared!

Lovely resolution. This was a thoroughly enjoyable episode. Reminded me of "Love and Monsters," oddly enough, though I can't really put my finger on why, other than it was more about the ordinary people than really about the Doctor. Aaaaand, there's the crack again. Ooh, and the ring! Is she remembering?

Another weird thing about this season is that at the start, I was much more taken with Amy than the Doctor, and somewhere around "Flesh and Stone" that shifted.

I both can't wait for the next two eps and am not happy the season is about to be over.
